AC adapters supplying power is a bit more complicated. First the adapter should stabilize the voltage and filter to ensure that it can work in unstable condition. Voltage having been stabilized is divided into two parts, one for the laptop and the other for battery. The part supplying power for laptop works in the same way with batteries, while the other part supplying power for battery can only go to the cell as long as they go through the charging control circuit which could be very complicated. Put simply, it should include junior stabilization, precision voltage regulator, silicon controlled adjustment pulsation output, stabilization output, current feedback, cells charging process recording and calculation, and charging procedure self-reflecting adjustment parameters etc. The supply voltage should be greater than cell voltage to make sure there is plenty of differential pressure allowance to supply for units of charging control circuit.
