1. Manufacturer went el cheapo
By Hanaleia from Black Forest CO on Oct 19, 2010
I have purchased 2 of these laptop coolers in the past , silver gray in nice heavy duty aluminum. Friends liked them so much I gave them to them thinking I could get more. It seems the manufacturer went el cheapo, the ones I just received are different, same box same picutre but they are a thin flimsy black aluminum that actually flexes and there are no guards on the fan backs. This means every time I pick it up my finger goes right in the fans and stops them, ouch!. Also if I set it on the couch bed or lap the fans hit the cloth and stop turning.Very bad Idea to not have fan guards.I was very disappointed in the new quality. However Brilliant Store has super customer service and took them back, so I still love Brilliant Store and will enthusiastically continue to do business with them .Hopefully they will complain to the manufacturer and get the better quality ones back.
2. Cool Laptop
By Brianna from Columbia, MO on Apr 21, 2010
Never seen one with an angled surface so I purchased this and in 3 days, I received it!! Fast Shipping. It works very well too, considering that I'm using it on a big Dell laptop. My Dell used to get warm after only 20 minutes of use, but since I started using aluminum cooling pad, I can now use my laptop until the battery runs dry and my laptop stays cool. Thanks!
3. Makes a big difference
By Jacklynn from Fresno CA on Feb 9, 2010
My laptop was overheating a lot so I decided to get this laptop cooler pad. It works really well and my laptop no longer overheats. I love how it is USB powered and how the frame is designed for great ventilation.
4. keeps it cool but one fan down
By Hanaleia from Black Forest, Colorado on Jan 20, 2010
I purchased this cooler last year for my evil AcerAspire 5050 that overheats/shuts down if you look at it wrong. I must admit it was the best I have tried yet and I have been through about a dozen or so of them, so yes it did a super job... while it worked, Yesterday however the middle fan went down and today the two on each side keep stopping and starting and making a low squealing noise. I did run it non stop for about a week or so straight last week. Of course my 90 day warranty was up in Dec "sigh" However,I like it so much I am actually going to buy another one and see if this one lasts longer this time. I think it is worth one more try.
5. 3rd fan makes all the difference
By BrilliantStore User on Jun 22, 2007
This product does what you want it to do very well, before I got it my laptop was scorching hot, now it is room temperature, or cooler. The 3 fan design is superb.
6. Does its job, although not very quiet
By BrilliantStore User on Jun 6, 2007
I've read some reviews about the product elsewhere before I bought it. Most reviews stated the noise was a minimum and the 3 fans worked great. After trying the cooler pad out, I have to admit the 3 fans are quite nice. My laptop stays relatively cool. However, I do find that the noise is louder than I would like. It is noisier than my precious cooler pad and often it is louder than the noise generated by my laptop. The design is good, although the plastic stands that hold the laptop are kind of cheaply built. The elevated stand makes it easier to type after I got over the initial adjusting period. But for the price ($19.95-ish), it is not a bad buy.
