Tips: Ways to help maintain an Apple laptop battery
Factors, including the room temperature where a laptop is being used or stored, can have a significant impact on the life of a notebook battery. From its first charge, a laptop battery begins to age. No matter how much maintenance you perform, the aging process can't be stopped. As aging continues the battery resistance grows and results in a longer charging time. That may trip up the charge control circuit sensor resulting in dropped capacity. The Apple laptop battery correction (calibration) is an effective way to deal with aging batteries. This is a common way a number of laptop manufacturers have employed as method of maintenance for aging batteries. However, only a few laptop brands have dedicated calibration software. If your laptop don’t have a dedicated discharge software, the health of your Apple laptop battery can be maintained by following these steps:
1. Disable the screen-saver.
2. Set to “always open” in the Windows Power Management power scheme.
3. Set the “insufficient power warning” to 10% in Alert tab, set the operation to “no action.”
4. Set “a serious power shortage alert” to 3%, set operation to “pending.”
5. Set the screen brightness to the maximum.
6. Confirm that all the windows are closed, and keep all the previous work of the data.
7. Unplug the power and all external devices when when it's confirmed that over 80% battery has been charged.
