Power Meter shows 100%, but battery does not run long.

Question: My Power Meter shows 100% and my battery light is green, indicating that my battery is fully charged. But my laptop does not stay power up for a long time. Why?

This can occur if your battery (especially new) and the Power Meter utility program (on your laptop) get out of synchronization. The amber light may turn to green after only a few minutes, indicating that the Main Battery is fully charged, when it is really only partially charged. If this is the case, perform the following procedures:

1. Charge the newly main battery for 3 to 4 hours, or until the battery LED light changes from amber to green. Note: If the laptop's battery light doesn't come on within a few moments after the adapter plugged in, check all of your power connectors and make sure that the main battery is fully inserted into its slots.

2. Remove the newly main battery for 30 to 45 seconds from the laptop and then put it back into the slot.

The battery should now resume normal charging, and when the battery LED light turns green from amber this time, the main battery and Power Meter program should be in synchronization.

Note: The Toshiba Satellite 1605, 1625, 1675, 1695 and other models require the unit to be turned off completely to charge the main battery.
