I gave this 5 stars only to be fair, though I don't have one of these. I have a 200mw laser from this site and it is a very nice laser, but powerful at just 1/10 the power of this one! A 2 watt laser IS NOT SAFE to use casually in a classroom! This is NOT a "pointer" in any setting where the beam will be reflected off of anything- wall, glass, ANYTHING. I'm sure this is a fine laser, but it must be used responsibly WITH the goggles including anyone else looking closely at the beam.
2. Safety is a matter of perspective, I suppose?

Within the product description, they recommend using this 2000mW laser in a classroom, and call this "an ultra safe laser". ARE YOU KIDDING??? Only if this classroom is for the blind. I've seen 50mW lasers when shining on close objects, and the reflection off that is bad enough, but we're talking about a factor of 40X on top of that. Who writes up this stuff?
