1. Great service, great product

Worked like a charm. I was confused in the beginning because only one green light illuminated after the charge. Then I realized that you have to unplug the unit from the wall in order to get the fully charged reading. Unfortunately, my battery won't hold a charge long so I'll have to buy a new one. Otherwise, I'm happy with my purchase.

2. What I Know about standalone charger for Sony Laptop Battery VGP-BPL2, VGP-BPS2, VGP-BPS2A

What I know is that I needed a separate charger to charge up my extra battery without impacting what I am doing my Sony laptop. I got this neat charger that does the job quite splendidly. Late night at the school library, I do not want to be bothered with charging up a battery in the middle of studying. I'd carry my extra battery with me everywhere I go now. Carrying my laptop with a charger is one option or an extra battery is my second. Since, they do not have power outlets at those library study cubicles; an extra battery is my solution. This thing is great i got 2 batteries for my notebook now i can charge both batteries at the same time and when i leave i have an extra battery.

this charger works very well. i have a VGP-BPS2 that does not charge my battery. For some reason, i think it might be the charging circuit. anyways, i bought this external charger and it works like a charm. i'm able to charge my battery externally and then place it back in my laptop and use the battery for a few hours. the only bad thing is that while my battery is charging, i would have to keep the charger connected so that i can keep working.

the only bad thing about this item is that the connector is just a tad bit flimsy. you would definitely have to have the battery and this charger on flat surface otherwise, it might get disconnected. but overall, it works great! Sony was going to charge me $200 for a new battery and over $1000 for the repair - buying this ol' thing save me a lot...and it works!!! Great store..i wish they had a location closer to me though coz their prices are insanely cheap. would definitely recommend them to my friends and colleagues.
