1. I had a similar experience to the other user, who is using a Dell laptop with XP

Windows XP cannot find a driver - nothing doing.
2. Webcam doesn't need a driver, but doesn't work without one

I used this webcam on a previous laptop just fine, but with a newer laptop with the same operating system, Windows XP, my system is looking for a driver. The webcam doesn't need a driver supposedly. I can't find any support anywhere for it to work without a driver. I have a Dell Latitude E6400.

Go for it and use it @ your college dorm. It's so easy to use and make a pretty video chat

6. a nice, cheap webcam!
By hanna from Concord, North Carolina on Feb 3, 2010
i am completely satisfied with the webcam, it works great with skype and has a very nice picture! The only thing that i don't like is that i don't know how to turn on the LED lights. there was no information given with the product, and there's no instructions online. so, i guess no LED lights for me. I won't be using it in the dark anyways, so it's not a big deal.
It has a sturdy clip and clamps onto the monitor well. When i plugged it in, it installed immediately and was ready to use. I DO recommend this product, because it is very cheap and reliable.
